Janet is a Principal at BCT Design Group and serves as a Director of the Housing Studio. Specializing in Senior Housing, Janet co-leads BCT's work on mixed-use projects that include - seniors and multi-family housing, retail, hospitality and office. Her responsibilities, along with Housing co-director Scot Foster, include supervising the overall project design and management of every housing project and the quality assurance process for the studio. Janet brings over 20 years of experience to each project she undertakes for her clients.
Janet joined BCT in 2009 to establish the firm's Housing Studio with Scot Foster. Prior to joining BCT, she was a Principal, Project Manager and Project Architect with CSD Architects, leading a variety of senior housing projects throughout the country. She is a registered architect in the State of Maryland and has been an integral part of the design and construction of more than 3000 housing units. She believes that successful residential projects—whether for seniors or millennials—require solid design principles, creativity and comprehensive market knowledge combined with the appropriate amenities.
Janet received her Master of Architecture in 1997 from the University of Maryland School of Architecture and her undergraduate degree in 1994 from Dickinson College. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA), Urban Land Institute (ULI), ICSC, and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), Baltimore Chapter.
